Assume you have been asked by the nursing supervisor at the community health clinic at which you work to research infectious disease trends as they relate to public health program planning and promotion. She wants you to prepare a presentation for nursing students at the local branch of the statewide university system. The presentation will focus on infection control.
Develop a 12- to 15-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation with speaker notes that analyzes infectious diseases by:
Defining?epidemiology,?outbreak,?incidence, and?prevalence
Evaluating?the role of nursing within epidemiology
Evaluating?current infectious diseases locally, statewide, and nationally
Associating 3 of the most current infectious diseases with Healthy People 2030 objectives
Analyzing?evidence-based practices aimed at reducing infectious diseases
Explaining health promotion techniques that can be used to manage infectious and communicable diseases in populations

Part 2: Teaching Project
Develop the teaching project you proposed in Part 2 of the Week 2 assignment by following the steps below.
Step 1
Develop the teaching project you proposed in Part 2 of the Week 2 assignment into a community education curriculum. (3 clinical hours)
Determine which variables should be included in your curriculum to address the identified public health conditions.
Determine which resources and materials you will need to teach the curriculum.
Determine which communication method and health promotion technique should be used to deliver your curriculum.
Step 2
Develop and prepare the curriculum and identify all elements you would use. (7 clinical hours)
Develop all materials needed to properly educate the agency population regarding the identified public health or communicable disease issue.
Develop a method for assessing the success of the educational curriculum with the identified population.
Step 3
Deliver the educational curriculum/teaching project focused on the identified health issue to the identified agency and its population. Please note that you must schedule each educational session for 30 minutes and each assessment session for 30 minutes. Schedule 5 sets of sessions (5 educational sessions and 5 assessment sessions) during the balance of the course. (5 hours)
Present the educational curriculum to the identified population over 5 separate sessions, as noted above.
After each teaching session, assess the success of the curriculum to address the identified public health issue or disease.
Step 4
Prepare a 350-word summary?of?the educational curriculum.
Compile?your slide presentation from Part 1 and your summary from Part 2 for submission.
