pharmaceutical and medical device markets are extremely competitive. You can’t
watch TV without seeing an AD for a new drug or therapy. Select one
pharmaceutical drug that is currently marketed to consumers.

Also,
attached a video/ad/commercial regarding your pharmaceutical drug. Describe the
therapy (Company, Brand Name, Generic Name, Drug Class/Disease Category). Then
identify and research the competitors, list all the competitors and complete a
SWOT analysis for the drug that you’ve selected. If you can’t find any
competitors indicate that this drug is “first to market” and within
the SWOT discuss the potential impact. (Present the SWOT analysis within your
posting).

What
Influences your health services purchases?

Whether or
not “we pay” or our insurance company pays, or another third person
pays for our health care, we are still in charge of making the decision as to
when, where, how and why to seek out health services.

Think of the last time you accessed a health
service. First identify what need you had to lead you to seek a health service.
Then, referring to the Week 3 Overview, Influences on Consumer Behavior,
identify which variables affected your decision.

This is about describing the process, not
about your illness (So keep personal details private). Focus on the process and
the decision making.

Philanthropy

A common
target audience among nonprofit healthcare organizations includes Donors.

Marketers
are often creating messaging and communications to Donors to encourage giving.

Nonprofit
healthcare organizations often rely on philanthropy revenue to provide services
to those they serve and to carry-out their mission.

Identify a
nonprofit health organization and create a value proposition for their donor
audience that explains why they should donate.

You can
provide more than one value proposition. This can be a real value proposition
that you’ve researched from the organization or you can create one.

Outline a
patient experience

If you
could design the ideal patient experience for a primary care doctor’s office
what would it look like? Map each of the patient touch points beginning with
the patient recognizing the need to visit a primary care doctor. Don’t forget
important touch points in all three of the processes, people, place and
process. Take the patient all the way
through follow up care and resolution of the payment for the health service.
