1) In our studies, learning resources, and with the academic material in slides from Week 2 And Week 6, there is plenty of balanced empirical evidence reference “Parenting Today.” Some of these topics include parental attachment, establishment of love, trust, empathy, close relations and interactions with others, learning family culture as an introduction to intellectual learning, and other important tenets of parents’ responsibilities to a child’s human growth.
Question: Choose any three important topics, those above, or other ones mentioned and stressed in the slides and learning resources. Summarize each with evidence and a critical analysis. The length should be one or more double-spaced pages.
2) Read in Holden Chapter 12: Child Maltreatment, pages 299 through 301, including Box 12.6.
Question: Briefly define Holden’s basic definition of Child Psychological Maltreatment. Then use a real-life case of which you have witnessed, or one of which you are familiar, or one you can imagine that would horrify you. Then write a critical analysis of what does, or may go into the mind of the perpetrator – father, mother, or a close relative. Then speculate (through evidence and your opinion) what psychological trauma the victim suffered, or would suffer, in the immediate term and in the future. Then write a short analysis of the possible psychological consequences to the aggressor. This question will require one or more double-spaced page.
