Prompt: A cognitive bias is a systematic error in how we think, as opposed to a random error or one that’s merely caused by our ignorance. We suffer from many cognitive biases. These biases cause us to make mistakes and can interfere with our ability to achieve our goals.

1. Define the bias you have chosen.
2. Give examples of the bias. You may use examples from psychological studies or real-life examples.
3. Come up with one technique for overcoming the bias. What is one thing we can do to avoid falling prey to this bias. Note: the technique you come up with cannot simply be something like “be aware that the bias exists.” Come up with a strategy for overcoming the bias. To find the required information, do internet research. Wikipedia can often be a good place to start.
