Final Project Submission and Self-Assessment

The major purpose of the final assignment in each module is to integrate the information you have learned throughout the current module and the course thus far, and to practice effective and professional communication of your ideas in various formats.  For this assignment, you will submit your final version of the multimedia presentation with voice and then complete and submit a self-assessment.  For maximum points, you must incorporate peer feedback into your presentation as appropriate, as well as submit your self-assessment.

For this assignment, you should focus on improving your project and then thoughtfully complete the self-assessment of your performance.  

This activity assesses module outcomes 1, 2, & 3.  Upon successful completion of this activity, you will be able to:

MO1: Deliver a complex visual and oral presentation within appropriate constraints. (CO1, CO2, CO4)

MO2: Accurately self-assess performance quality by melding external standards and expectations with personal criteria. (CO4, CO5)

MO3: Incorporate feedback as appropriate to strengthen presentation quality. (CO4, CO5)

This activity aligns with the career competencies of oral communication and digital technology.

Instructions for your Final Multimedia Presentation (due by Sunday night):

Improve your multimedia presentation in an approved platform such as Prezi, Powtoon, Powerpoint, or Voicethread.  Be sure your privacy settings are set to allow others to view.

Include all the required components and use the feedback you’ve received on earlier assignments.

Required components:

– Written text

– Graphics/images

– Voice-over and/or video of you, presenting the information

– Introduction of your social justice issue and why it is important to address, including how it connects to psychology

– Example of the issue in the workplace or other space

– Hypothesis about why the issue exists, supported with theory and empirical evidence (properly cited/referenced in APA format)

– Solution-focused prediction about how the issue can be managed/change can be effected

– Call to action (what do you want the audience to do?)

– Be sure you have thoughtfully considered and incorporated as appropriate the feedback you have received

Instructions for completing the Self-Assessment (also due by Sunday night):

For maximum points on this assignment, you must complete and submit the self-assessment in the “comments” section of your assignment submission. Draft a copy in your word process to avoid losing work.

Thoughtfully answer the following questions:

– What did you like about this project?  What were you able to do well?

– What did you like the least about this project?  What were the biggest challenges you experienced?  Why?

– What did you learn about yourself through this project?  Consider your strengths, interests, support needs.

– What do you wish you had spent more time on or done differently? Why?

– What part of the project did you do your best work on?  Why? 

As always, it is recommended that you briefly write out a script for yourself before you create the presentation. Scripts help you sound more focused and polished while keeping the information clear and concise.  Follow the tips located at the beginning of our course to maximize the impact of your script and video.

If you need assistance, follow the directions provided in the “Technical Guidance” document, found at the beginning of our course.

Your presentation should utilize images, writing, and video and/or audio (your voice-over, which is required).  Your presentation can be completed in Powerpoint, Prezi, Powtoons, or another platform approved by your instructor. 

Your presentation should be a maximum of 5 minutes long.
