Erikson
believed that people must pass through
eight different psychosocial stages in their lifetimes in which people resolve
a resolve a different psychosocial crisis at each stage. He believed that when a persona resolved
these crises satisfactorily, he/she could moved on to the new challenges.
However, if a person did not resolve a crisis in a satisfactory manner, then
this crisis could continue to be an issue that the person would continue to
have to manage in later life.
Please
watch the video discussing Erikson’s 8 Stages of Psychosocial Development. Pay close attention to the first five stages,
because these are the stages that occur during early school-age life. Please choose one of the first five stages
and discuss this stage in detail with examples.

Chapter 2 discusses the views of both Piaget and Vygotsky in cognitive
development. Please watch the video “Piaget and Vygotsky in 90 Seconds”
on your Unit 2 Course page. In reviewing
the text and videos, how does the work of the two theorists seem both similar
and different? Please provide real-life examples to support your claims.
