Overview:

For this assignment, you will create a newsletter for the families explaining the importance of play in your classroom. Your newsletter should highlight the importance of play for one of the developmental domains you have read about this past week and include why it is essential for this age group.

Instructions:

You will develop a 1-page informational newsletter for families that highlights the importance of play for your chosen developmental domain and why it is essential for this age group.

After reviewing the NAEYC resources in the Readings and Resources:

•Choose one of the developmental domains (physical, cognitive, language, or emotional development) for a child between the ages of 12 to 24 months old.

•Clearly state the developmental domain you have chosen, including a brief explanation as to why you have chosen that domain and how it pertains to early learning.

•Include a photo/mage of children playing for your chosen age.

•Include two examples of how you will use play for your chosen domain from your textbook or another scholarly source.

•End your newsletter with a quote about play.

Your newsletter should be at least one page; feel free to be as creative as you want when creating your newsletter.

Requirements:

•Length: at least 1 page. You may use any newsletter templates you find online, if you wish or just create in a Word document.

•References: at least two and cite them. They can be from your text and/or another source.
