perhaps you were able to relate personal experiences with managers or leaders
to Bennis’ descriptions. Or you might have thought about a manager or leader
that you have read about or in pop culture that fits those descriptions.
Management and Leadership Assignment
In your small group, select one of the following case
studies: 1) Air Force Materiel Command: Diagnosing the Situation (Links to an
external site.), 2) The Board Chair’s Dilemma (Links to an external site.), 3)
A Career Manager and the Budget Process (Links to an external site.), 4) A
Change of Leadership at the Local Education Authority (Links to an external
site.), or 5) Mayor Schell’s Zero Homeless Family Pledge (Links to an external
site.). After reading your selected case, consider the manager or leader in the
study. How do the management and leadership practices that Bennis lists in his
article apply to the specific leader or manager in your case study?
Discuss your findings with your group members. Then, write a
one page memo on the application of Bennis’ descriptions to your case study.
Your assignment should be double-spaced, use 12-point font, and be a Microsoft
Word document. Be sure to include the title of the case you addressed in your
memo as well. Select one group member to submit your assignment to the Module
