Purpose

Nurse
practitioners actively engage in the process of translating nursing knowledge
into practice, thereby establishing evidence-based approaches within the
discipline. Throughout this process, a
theoretical framework provides a meaningful context to guide and support the
evidence-based practice. The purpose of this assignment is to identify a theory
or model which can be used as a framework for a future evidence-based project
during your nurse practitioner education.

Submit your
PowerPoint file to the Dropbox by 11:59 p.m. MT Sunday at the end of Week 7.

addition, submit your link to the discussion thread for Week 8 by 11:59 PM MT
Sunday at the end of week 7.

Students
are expected to submit assignments by the time they are due. Assignments
submitted after the due date and time will receive a deduction of 10% of the
total points possible for that assignment for each day the assignment is late.
Assignments will be accepted, with penalty as described, up to a maximum of
three days late, after which point a zero will be recorded for the assignment.
Quizzes and discussions are not considered assignments and are not part of the
late assignment policy.

In Week 7,
you will create a Kaltura presentation using PowerPoint. In Week 8, you will upload your discussion to
the threaded discussion and interact with peers in discussions related to their
presentations.

literature regarding issues or concerns within your selected nurse practitioner
specialty.

Select a
theory or model which is relevant to your nurse practitioner specialty and
would offer a meaningful context for evidence-based practice surrounding the
issue or concern which you identified.

In a
PowerPoint Presentation, address the following.

Introduction
to the presentation

Identify
and describe a theory or model and explain its relevance to your nurse
practitioner specialty.

Describe an
issue or concern that is related to your
nurse practitioner specialty, and explain its impact on health care outcomes

Explain how
the theory or model can be used as a framework to guide evidence-based practice
to address the issue or concern, and discuss the unique insight or perspective
offered through the application of this theory or model.

Use Microsoft Word 2013™ to create the PowerPoint presentation.

Length: The
PowerPoint presentation must be 7 total slides (excluding title and reference
slides). The Kaltura presentation should
be between 5-15 minutes.

presentation. Additional instructions on Kaltura can be found under Course

Speaker
notes should be used and include in-text citations when applicable. Submit
PowerPoint with speaker notes as an attachment to the Dropbox.

A minimum
