Background
For this week’s assignment, you will be applying your knowledge of risk assessment to the case of George. While you might not have all of the information in the case you would like for your assessment, this is often the case in clinical practice. Often, we are to make our decision with limited information on client’s who will say anything to avoid hospitalization.
Instructions
Refer to the Week 3 Case Study and answer the following questions:
What is your differential diagnosis for the patient below?
Select and describe a standardized measure you would use to evaluate for suicide risk.
If George refuses to go to the hospital, would he meet your state’s requirement for an involuntary hold? Be sure to provide the specific criteria for involuntary holds in your state – explain why (or why not) he meets these criteria.
Support your assignment with at least three scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including seminal articles, may be included.
