They also understand how their personal experiences and affective reactions influence their professional judgment and behavior. Social workers must also use reflection and self-regulation to manage personal values and maintain professionalism in practice situations. For this second assignment, submit a Video Note in NCUOne to your professor. Develop your own self-care plan to deal with secondary trauma. Explain the techniques you can utilize to deal with physical, emotional, and behavioral signs that you might experience from dealing with trauma and what you can do to avoid burnout. Discuss how you would use supervision and consultation to guide professional judgement and behavior specifically around issues related to applying self-awareness and self-regulation to manage the influence of personal biases and values in working with diverse clients and constituencies.
To create a video note, select the Record video option in the assignment submission area. You will need your webcam to complete this video.
