Social workers understand the value base of the profession and its ethical standards, as well as relevant laws and regulations that may impact practice at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels. Your assignment this week is to prepare an informational memorandum for newly hired social workers in your state. Practicing social workers must understand the requirements for identifying abuse or neglect and how to report instances.
In your pamphlet, outline the regulations and requirements for the state in which you live or intend to practice specific to mandatory reporting. Next, identify the types of neglect and abuse social workers must be aware of when working with clients. Be sure to include types that impact vulnerable populations. Document how social workers should report these cases to the correct agencies.
Support your assignment with at least three scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including seminal articles, may be included.
