The references you use are to scholarly sources, and your textbook should NOT be the main reference you are using. In the directions, it stated three other references outside of the textbook. Please do the research on the topics and expand on what we have been discussing in the course. It is very important for you to cite each statement and give credit to the author. Also please remember direct quotation do not show an understanding of the concepts and should not be a majority of your paper.
In regards to the content of the paper, the theories/techniques to cover are: Psychoanalytic, Adlerian, Person-Centered, and Existential. The directions state it is a critique and not a summary. In writing the paper, please discuss key concepts of the techniques, the main tenets in how they apply to explaining human functioning and etiology of mental health disorders. In expanding and critiquing the theories, you can also discuss the theories or specific techniques being applied to certain populations, or psychological presentation. You can discuss populations you want to work with in the future and whether or not certain theories will be beneficial or effective. You can also include strengths and limitations for each theory, and cultural competence. Is the techniques and theories applicable to other cultures, or what would be the implications of that, and how you can work through it. Please do not use sources older than 10 years old as a majority of your work.
These are just some ideas on how to expand on these topics. Please think critically, researching outside sources will help you expand on ideas. Please have sources to support your arguments.
