Understanding that we all use ego defense mechanisms to distort reality to reduce anxiety, give clear specific examples of at least 4 of the ego defense mechanisms listed in Table 3-1 (on page 54 of your text) that you have seen in action.  Think of examples you have seen illustrated in your daily activities, in the news, or through social media.  If you are using personal examples and are concerned about confidentiality, you may use phrases like  “someone I know”  or ” an extended family member” or similar terms like that.
