Purpose
The purpose of this activity is to provide the student with an opportunity to become familiar with the literature related to healthcare economics. The articles reviewed should be related to the lecture topic.
Directions
1. Conduct a search to locate literature related to healthcare economics. Do a PROQUEST, MEDLINE, CINAHL and other database search to determine what is available (within the last five years) in the literature.
2. Select two journal articles related to the lecture topic.
3. Describe each article separately using a table format (see synthesis matrix)
4. Compare and contrast the two articles (see synthesis matrix) 5. Provide a rationale why one article is more convincing than the other.
6. Discuss what was learned and how this knowledge can be applied in healthcare.
7. Prepare a title page, abstract, table (double space), conclusion and reference list according to APA guidelines.
8. Post review of articles on the Blackboard
