Discovering the Student Support Center [WLOs: 1, 2] [CLOs: 1, 2]

Part of your final project for this course is developing academic and professional goals and identifying resources to help you reach your goals. A great resource available to all the University of Arizona Global Campus students is the Student Success Center (SSC). The Student Success Center is a one-stop shop for all of your academic needs! This site houses a number of valuable tools and resources that will support you as you go along your academic journey and will help prepare you as you design your Personal Development Plan in Week 5 and for future professional success.

Prepare: Before attempting this discussion,

Review the Week 5 Final Project.

Start thinking about your academic and professional goals as well as your strengths and areas of opportunity.

Visit the Student Support Center Links to an external site.(SSC) and explore the different tools and resources the SSC has to offer.

Consider the resources in the Supports & Resources, Academic & Career Skills, or School-Life Balance sections of the SSC. Also, consider checking out the The Hub (Links to an external site.).

Identify at least three tools or resources that you find particularly valuable and useful.

In your initial discussion forum post,

List the three valuable and useful tools or resources you found in the SSC.

Describe each of the three tools or resources.

What is the resource? How do you access it? How could it be used? What is helpful, valuable, or useful about the resource?

Explain how the three tools or resources can help you achieve your professional or academic goals.

Your initial post should be a minimum of 150 words and is due by Day 3 (Thursday). Try to write a short paragraph about each of the three resources you discovered.

Respond to Peers: Review your classmates’ posts, and respond to at least two of your peers by Day 7 (Monday). Each peer response should be a minimum of 50 words. In your peer responses:

Discuss the usefulness of tools, strategies, or resources your peer found.

How could these tools or resources benefit you as well?

Suggest another resource within the Student Support Center (SSC) that your peer could find to be beneficial.
