states.

Several
treatment settings and treatment modalities such as outpatient, inpatient, AA,
group therapy, internet therapy, etc. are identified in Week 3’s literature.
Think about your social media campaign selected population and identify one
setting that would work best for your population of interest and state why based
on the literature.
Also,
respond to two students who have selected different treatment setting and
identify a strength for one setting and a weakness for another setting.

Week 4 Discussion
According
to Rolando et al. (2012), “alcohol socialization is the process by which a
person approaches and familiarizes with alcohol learns about the values
connected to its use and about how, when and where s/he can or cannot drink.”
Based on
the focus group findings, describe what the first drink means in both Italy and
Finland, and what types of attitudes are connected with different types of
socialization processes. Respond to two posts identifying how positive values
can be connected to first memories of drinking.

Week 5 Discussion
According
to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2016), Intimate Partner
Violence (IPV) is a serious, preventable public health problem that affects
millions of Americans. The term “intimate partner violence” describes
physical, sexual, or psychological harm by a current or former partner or
spouse. Nearly 38 percent of IPV
perpetrators have significant alcohol problems (NIAAA).

to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 4th edition Text
Revision (DSM-IV-TR), Alcohol Dependence is defined as a maladaptive pattern of
alcohol use, leading to clinical significant impairment or distress, as
manifested by tolerance and withdrawal occurring at any time in the same
12-months.
Identify
two elements of dependence from the Diagnosis of Substance Use Disorders:
Diagnostic Criteria article and explain how these two elements can lead to
psychosocial or environmental problems.
Also, respond to two posts providing an example of psychosocial or
environmental problem associated with an element of dependence identified by
two classmates.

Mothers
Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is the nation’s largest non-profit working to
protect families from drunk driving, drugged driving, and underage drinking.
Briefly summarize why MADD was established and their mission. Also, visit
madd.org and identify a component of MADD that you would like to include in
your social media campaign.
Respond to
two students who have identified different components of MADD, and state how
the components would be either beneficial or ineffective among your population.

Experiential Paper
Experiential
Paper (due end of Week 3): Compose a 750-1000 word paper detailing the
individual experience of administering 2 alcohol screening tools. The student
will conduct a mock interview with a friend or family member using two of the
following tools: Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test, T-ACE, and/or
Michigan Alcohol Screening Test.
Students
will briefly describe the tools and describe their experience administering
each tool.
Students
will identify strengths and weakness of each tool; identify difficult questions
to ask during the mock interview, and make suggestions for future versions of
the tool.
Late
submissions are subject to a reduction of 10% of the total assignment value per
day. After 5 days, the paper will not be graded

Develop a
social media campaign to bring awareness to hazardous alcohol consumption
and/or alcohol abuse among a determined target population.
