Unit 6 Discussion
In the unit lesson, we discussed that individuals can find instructions for how to build homemade bombs on the internet. Do you feel that law enforcement and the U.S. Intelligence Community should do more to ensure that this type of information is not readily available, or do you feel that would be considered a violation of the right to free speech? Why, or why not?
Your initial post should be substantive, polished writing, and I highly encourage (not mandatory) to support your cliams, statements, and drawn conclusions with research as it adds credibility to your position and argument. Your peer responses should further the academic discussion. You should present alternative analysis, challenges to their assumptions and claims, or questions on how they arrived at their conclusions. FOLLOW APA Guidelines for all your writing, citations, and references (if used).

Unit 7 Discussion
In 2015, a San Bernardino couple walked into a workplace event and killed 14 people and injured many others. Law enforcement searched evidence from that event, and they were able to retrieve a mobile device. An Apple iPhone was taken to forensics for examination, but scientists were unable to gain access to the phone due to its security features. The manufacturing company Apple refused to assist in the investigation due to the privacy concerns for their customers and the security of their phones (codes), which resulted in a lawsuit between the U.S. government and Apple. Do you agree with Apple’s privacy protection and security measures of refusing to unlock their phones due to civil privacy? Why, or why not?

Instructions
You are a detective for the local metro police department. You and your partner have been dispatched to a possible crime scene investigation in which a mother reported that she found her teenage son dead on the floor in his bedroom. Unit 4 Assignment
If you recall from Unit III, the police were called to investigate the scene of a death in which a mother reported that she had found her teenage son dead on the floor in his bedroom. There was a large pool of blood on the carpet near the son’s head and possible signs of a struggle. These signs include scratches on the victim’s body, torn clothing, clumps of the victim’s hair and some unidentified hair on the floor, and a nightstand laying on its side with a broken lamp next to it. In addition, some drug paraphernalia is discovered inside the victim’s nightstand.
In this assignment, you will write an essay in which you describe which of the various tools and techniques that we discussed in this unit would be needed to process and analyze the physical evidence found at the scene. Be sure to be very specific about the type of evidence being processed and analyzed and what you may discover about that evidence based on the tools and techniques used. Additionally, you will describe how forensic toxicology would be used in this investigation to discover what drugs might have been in the victim’s system at the time of death. You will also describe how this knowledge might be helpful in the investigation.
Your essay must be at least two pages in length, and you should at least use your textbook as a reference. Adhere to APA Style when constructing this assignment, and include in-text citations and references for all sources that are used. Please note that no abstract is needed.

Unit 5 Assignment
PowerPoint Presentation
Imagine that you are a crime scene investigator, and you have been asked to present at a forensic science conference due to your department’s recent success in garnering a murder conviction in a decade-old murder case. In the case, a female body had been dumped at a construction site with signs of sexual assault and strangulation. Unfortunately, at the time that the body was discovered, there were plenty of suspects, but no one could be positively identified as the murderer. Recently, due to new information being uncovered in the case, the evidence—which included paint, metal, and soil samples, DNA evidence taken from the victim and her assailant, and forensic serology evidence—was re-examined, and a positive ID could finally be established. A suspect was then taken into custody and subsequently convicted of the crimes of rape and murder.
In your presentation, you will offer a brief description of the evidence and how it was collected and analyzed as well as how forensic serology and DNA evidence were used to positively identify the individual who was ultimately convicted. Be sure to use speaker notes in your presentation, and keep the text on the slides to a minimum as you would in an actual presentation to a group.
or additional information on how to develop a PowerPoint presentation, please view thetutorialPowerPoint Basics. The transcript for the tutorial can be viewed by clicking on the “Notes” tab in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
Your PowerPoint presentation must be at least 10 slides in length, not counting the title and reference slides. You should use at least one resource for your presentation, which can be your textbook. Adhere to APA Style when creating citations and references for this assignment.
