Unit 1 Seminar

Option 1 — Attend Seminar:

 

During your first Seminar, you will discuss your expectations of this course, any questions about the course platform, and the perceived expectations of the paralegal profession. There will also be time to share any experiences that you may have had in the legal profession. Most Seminar sessions will focus on the unit’s subject matter. However, as this is your first Seminar, you will also begin to get to know each other during this time. Please try to complete the week’s Reading before attending Seminar so you can also discuss this week’s terms and subject matter. Ahead of our seminar please review the classroom orientation video below. It will help prepare for the next ten weeks.

Option 2 — Alternative Assignment: If you are unable to attend the live Seminar, please review the archive of the Seminar. You can then write a 2-page, double-spaced Microsoft® Word® document summarizing the Seminar. This should be submitted to the appropriate Dropbox within 1 week of missing the Seminar.

Unit 2 Seminar

Option 1 — Attend Seminar: Unit 2’s Seminar will discuss more about the civil litigation process, including the pretrial, trial, and appeals process. It will also discuss the various terminology related to this area as well as this week’s Assignment.

Option 2 — Alternative Assignment: If you are unable to attend the live Seminar, please review the archive of the Seminar. You can then write a 2-page, double-spaced Word document summarizing the Seminar. This should be submitted to the appropriate Dropbox within 1 week of missing the Seminar.
